Building Fiddles with Antique Boxes.

Check them out to your heart's content at Woolworth Walk . A Landmark Building in the Heart of Asheville's Historic District, Woolworth Walk Gallery has brought charm and excitement to the beautiful, old Woolworth Co. building, which was constructed in 1938. There are over 150 craft artists represented. It is located at 25 Haywood St. Asheville, NC 28801 (828-254-9234).

They caught me!

I try to stay under the radar, but somehow Hal Millard of the Mountain Xpress caught up with me.

Here's his article.

Now building fretted instruments!

Recently, I completed a tenor boxjo and a long scale mandolin (boxzuki). These were on commission for an English showman named Ian Harris. Visit Ian's website.

Recently, I completed the Rocky Ford long scale mandolin. This instrument uses a great old box with an Indian on the cover and a 5 cent price. The sound hole is shaped like an arrow head. The neck is white mahogany and uses Grover friction tuners.

New Workshop!

In April, I moved into a new 1400 sq. ft. workshop. I am still building storage units and other necessaries to get the shop up and running. Click here for a look at the current state of affairs.
